🔗 Share this article Battlefield 6's Casual Game Mode Ignites Intense Discussions Regarding Bots, Experience Points, and Queue Times Recently, the game developers introduced a fresh playlist titled Relaxed Breakthrough. In essence, this mode resembles the standard Breakthrough format but features several notable changes: Every squad includes just eight human participants, with the remaining made up of AI-controlled opponents. Activities done by human gamers award full XP, while AI activities provide reduced XP. Just a pair of maps are available: Siege of Cairo and Empire State. Elements like Dogtags, achievements, and stat tracking have been turned off. So essentially, the playlist lives up to its title: it offers a laid-back take of Breakthrough. On the surface, you might think it's a good idea, as it gives additional choices for gamers seeking alternative ways to have fun with the title. But, gaming history has shown one thing, it is that you can't please everyone. In other words, a lot of Battlefield 6 players are mad. Player Reactions: Anger to Praise "People want human opponents. Avoid making the mistakes of your competitors," reads one reply to the official announcement. "Absolutely shocking idea," says a different user. Meanwhile, on the Battlefield subreddit, a player notes, "I have no idea where we are headed with this game," while someone else lists all the issues they consider to be broken in the game: "Resolve glitches, fix drone glitch, correct rocket mechanics, fix [the] bloom after sprinting bug, improve hit detection. We don't need this AI-heavy playlist." However, for every complaint, there are players sharing how much they're liking the new mode. "It's enjoyable to warm up, real players prevent it from being a total farmfest but it's quite laid-back," says one Reddit comment. "The community doesn't understand that there are players who have lives and can't play this title all the time. Let them find a middle ground," adds another. A response via social media explains that as they're "a battledad with busy schedules, this is perfect for me," and someone else applauds the mode for "not being overcompetitive." Valid Concerns and Player Feedback Despite the support, there are valid points to complain about Casual Breakthrough. A few folks have highlighted that it could increase wait times even longer for other modes due to the sheer number of options currently available. On a similar note, certain regions already encounter AI-filled matches in the existing playlists. Additionally, it appears somewhat counterintuitive that the mode does not begin without a minimum number of human gamers, despite it focuses mostly on fighting AI opponents. Finally, one of the biggest complaints is that Battlefield Portal was promised to provide complete rewards, even against bots, but that was removed when they tried to eliminate XP farming from the mode. So Casual Breakthrough seems like the player base compromising halfway, according to a Reddit comment. Another labels this mode as the developers "making a mistake significantly, I had great enjoyment in the initial release, what prompted them to adjust it?" Future Prospects: Will Changes Occur? If Battlefield Studios has demonstrated something so far with Battlefield 6, it's that they're paying attention and responding to feedback. Assignments being too difficult were adjusted rapidly, as did the required Redsec challenges. It is likely that, should analytics shows this recent mode is underperforming to their standards, they will not hesitate to make further modifications.
