David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The author

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A representative for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
