Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad after the fallout from his public comments.

The striker was dropped from a vital match after voicing frustrations and stating his connection to the head coach had broken down.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”

The head coach has previously declined to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the player.

Looking Ahead

The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” he continued.

The midfielder also implied that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I get that there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

On-Field Response

The team's performance have been impressive in the period after the situation. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not intended to destabilise the squad.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a good place,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and securing victories.”
