Dan Burn A nuisance at set pieces, per usual, but may be a replacement to Stones at the back as opposed to alongside him. One wayward distribution after the break almost led to the first goal from the visitors. 6/10

Nico O’Reilly One more composed performance from the youngster following his initial appearance versus Serbia. Saka failed to make the most of an exquisite flick over the Albania defence. The left-back spot looks secure already. Seven

Adam Wharton His first start with the national team. Somewhat loose in possession but his dangerous set-pieces caused problems. A handy pace-controller for the manager to utilize versus teams who drop deep. Shown a yellow for a poorly timed foul. Six

Declan Rice Set-pieces on corner kicks and set-plays caused problems. Enjoyed room to move on the left only to be offside as the pass came in shooting positions. Given a deserved substitution on the hour mark. 6/10

The star midfielder Functioned in a high spot down the right and contributed with defensive duties. Showed flashes of quality and dragged an effort wide. Withdrawn towards the end by Rogers, a fellow player, following a yellow card. 7/10

The winger Had England’s clearest opportunity of the first half, his shot excellently kept out from the opposing goalkeeper. With a teammate hanging back, he had to provide width down the right side but his crosses from the touchline varied in quality. Substituted with 15 to go. 6

The captain The match-winner scoring seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth strikes at international level. The opener a trademark opportunist's goal and the second a superb headed goal having drifted away off his defender. Aged 32, he’s only getting better with the national team are strong contenders in future competitions when he's in the team. Eight

The attacker Found it tough to make an impact out wide. Had a presentable chance following a pass by Bellingham yet the keeper kept it out. Rashford made much more of an impact after coming on. Five
